Therapy in English and Turkish in Dubai

I offer individual psychotherapy for adults and couples therapy in English and Turkish, in person in Dubai and online.

Therapy often involves thoughts, emotions and experiences that can be difficult to translate. As a Turkish-speaking clinical psychologist in Dubai, I can work with you entirely in English or Turkish, or move between the two languages when that helps you express something more precisely.

Frequently asked questions

How will we know whether therapy is helping?

Progress is not measured only by whether difficult feelings disappear. It may also show in how quickly you recognise a familiar pattern, respond with greater choice, communicate more clearly, recover from setbacks or make decisions that reflect what matters to you. Progress is rarely linear, so we will review the work openly as we go. If therapy begins to feel stuck, we will consider why and decide together whether the focus or approach needs to change.

How will I know whether we are a good fit?

A good therapeutic relationship should allow you to feel understood, respected and able to speak honestly, even when the conversation is difficult. The first few sessions give us both an opportunity to assess this. I welcome questions or reservations, and if I believe another clinician or form of support would better meet your needs, I will say so openly.

How often will we meet, and how long will therapy take?

Sessions are usually held weekly at the beginning, as regularity helps us build momentum and understand patterns as they emerge. The overall length of therapy depends on what you would like to address, how longstanding the difficulties are, and what begins to change through the work. We will review the process together rather than deciding its duration in advance.

Is what I share in therapy confidential?

Yes. What you share is treated as confidential and handled in accordance with professional and legal standards in Dubai. There are limited exceptions, principally when there is a serious concern about safety or a legal duty to disclose information. I will explain these boundaries clearly at the beginning of therapy, and you can raise questions about confidentiality at any point.

Will you give me advice, or will I do most of the talking?

My role is more active than simply listening, but therapy is not about telling you how to live your life. I ask focused questions, offer psychological perspectives and help us connect what is happening now with the patterns beneath it. Together, we translate that understanding into changes that can have a meaningful place in your daily life.
